Voter Information

On August 26, 2025 registered Hoover voters will vote in the City of Hoover Municipal Election. The City Council is made up of 7 Places, with each council member serving a four year term.  These Places are at-large, which means that all voters vote for all Places.  Each council member represents all of Hoover.  Remember, you will need your ID in order to vote.

Voter Registration

There's plenty of time to register to vote for the August 26 election.  To register to vote for the 2025 Municipal Election:

Go to alabamavotes.gov and download a Voter Mail-in Registration form. There you can print, complete and mail in to the Jefferson County Board of Registrars address listed on the form.  You can also go to the Hoover Library, or one of the courthouses listed below to register:

Absentee Ballot

Applying for an Absentee Ballot:

Applications are available online or at Hoover City Hall. The phone number is 205-444-7500. Office hours are from 8 am to 5 pm.

On the application, the box for Municipal Election should be checked.

Returning the Absentee Ballot:

Please remember to include a copy of your photo id with the application. Only one application per envelope.

Finding your polling location is simple.  Click here, enter your County, Last Name, Date of Birth, click submit and you'll be shown all of your voting place location (must be a registered voter in order to search).
