On July 15, I had the privilege of participating in the Republican Women of North Shelby County luncheon, held at the Inverness Country Club that drew a full house. The event featured a dynamic forum following a keynote address by Hoover’s Police Chief and current mayoral candidate, Nick Derzis. During the two-minute stump segment for Place 1 candidates, I highlighted my commitment to transparency in government and my record of “walking the walk,” not just talking about problems but taking action—firsthand through initiatives like The Hoover Channel and consistent engagement with school and public safety leaders.

As a candidate for Hoover City Council Place 1, I emphasized my long-standing relationships with key city departments and my dedication to public safety and schools—cornerstones of what attracts families to Hoover. I underscored my focus on fiscal responsibility and shared how my efforts, particularly through livestreaming and civic engagement, have fostered open communication between local government and residents.

Being among fellow candidates and community leaders at this luncheon reinforced my belief in the power of grassroots engagement. I’m grateful to the Republican Women of North Shelby County for hosting such a constructive forum and providing a platform for meaningful dialogue. As the campaign continues, I remain committed to being accessible, accountable, and actively involved in shaping a transparent and thriving Hoover.  Remember to Vote on August 26 - Robin Schultz, Hoover City Council Place 1
